Naveed Shafi, MD, has served as Medical Director and Head Team Physician for Florida Atlantic University, and Team Physician for the University of South Carolina, the NHL Florida Panthers, the MLS Miami Fusion, the Florida Bobcats Indoor Football League, Texas Christian University, the Capital City Bombers baseball team, the Columbia City Ballet, multiple tennis tournaments, NFL football combines, and road races. He has treated top UFC MMA fighters, professional boxers, and Olympic, NFL, and NBA athletes.
Dr. Shafi focuses on difficult cases with refractory pain that have failed surgical intervention and conservative pain management. A large portion of his practice is dedicated to consultations and second opinions regarding non-surgical orthopedic treatment options for chronic and degenerative musculoskeletal pain. Dr. Shafi has lectured nationally and is considered an expert in the use of platelet and stem cell therapy in his field.
Dr. Shafi specializes in non-surgical and regenerative orthopedics using platelet and stem cells for pain management and tissue regeneration.
Dr. Shafi received his board certification in Primary Care Sports Medicine in 2003. He completed his residency at The Cleveland Clinic and his fellowship at The University of South Carolina. He has been practicing Sports Medicine and non-surgical Orthopedics in South Florida for the past 19 years.
He also is a certified medical review officer, certified in joint manipulation under anesthesia (MUA), as well as Hyperbaric and dive medicine.
