PAIN MANAGEMENT / ORTHOPEDIC CARE

Pain Management

Pain management can be simple or complex, depending on the cause of the pain. An example of pain that is typically less complex would be nerve root irritation from a herniated disc which can cause pain radiating down the leg. This condition can often be treated with an epidural injection using a steroid or PRP/Amnio products combined with physical therapy. In the case that the pain does not go away with the injection therapy, a variety of treatment modalities can be used.  These modalities can include medications, physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic or orthopedic care and psychological counseling.

At Restoration Medical Specialists, we treat pain guided by the history of the pain, its intensity, duration, aggravating and relieving conditions and structures  involved in causing the pain. Pain management has a role in identifying the precise source of the problem and isolating the optimal treatment. We use the most advanced and restorative modalities available to provide our patients with a full spectrum of treatment options to resolve their painful condition.

Fluoroscopy is an x- ray guided viewing method that is used to assist the doctor in precisely locating  the injection site so as to assure exact placement of the injected material into the site of injury. At Restoration Medical Specialists, we have the ability to use state of the art fluoroscopy equipment to perform necessary procedures on location by our Board Certified Orthopedic/Rehabilitation Specialists. After the injection, patients can go home the same day. Surgical consultation can be obtained if needed.

Patients should seek help as soon as pain becomes a problem in their life. It is a treatable condition that requires skill and empathy from experts that are specialists in their field.
