Spider Veins (Sclerotherapy) Superficial Veins

Sclerotherapy entails injecting a solution directly into the affected vein. This procedure is performed in our office by a board certified physician in Sclerotherapy. A typical Sclerotherapy session lasts less than one hour. In many cases, the reoccurrence of superficial spider veins following treatment is a result of underlying untreated deep large veins.

Varicose Veins and chronic lower extremity swelling (Laser Ablation) Deep Veins

Venous insufficiency is a common condition resulting from decreased blood flow from the leg veins up to the heart, with pooling of blood in the veins. Normally, one-way valves in the veins keep the blood flowing toward the heart, against the force of gravity. When the valves become weak and don’t close properly, they allow blood to flow backward, a condition called reflux.

These enlarged, swollen vessels are known as varicose veins and are a direct result of increased pressure from reflux. Risk factors for Varicose Veins include family history of varicose veins, age, gender, obesity or overweight, or pregnancy. Aching leg pain, easy leg fatigue and leg heaviness, all worsen as they progress.

Treatments include laser ablation and sclerotherapy. These are in office procedures performed by a Board Certified Cardiovascular Surgeon. Patient may return to normal activity immediately with no down time.
